
Terms of Service

1. Introduction and Acceptance
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Emon ("Service"), which synchronizes Outlook emails with Notion workspaces. By signing up for, accessing, or using Emon, you agree to these Terms and confirm you are authorized to bind your organization if applicable. Please review these Terms before using the Service.
2. Service Description
Emon offers:
- Real-time synchronization of Outlook inbox emails into your Notion workspace
- Automatic creation/update of Notion contact records based on email participants
- Organization of email threads as toggle blocks within contact pages
- OAuth-based authentication for secure Microsoft 365 and Notion access
Email sync is typically performed within 15 seconds of receipt.
3. Account Registration and Security
3.1 OAuth Authentication
To use Emon, authenticate via OAuth with both Microsoft 365 and Notion.
- Microsoft 365: Grant Mail.Read, User.Read, and offline_access permissions
- Notion: Authorize access to your selected workspace/databases
Valid accounts for both services are required.
3.2 Account Responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- Securing your Microsoft and Notion credentials
- All activity under your account
- Prompt notice of unauthorized access/security breaches
- Compliance with applicable laws in email and Notion use
3.3 Account Eligibility
Users must be at least 18 years old. By registering, you confirm this requirement and that all submitted information is accurate.
4. Acceptable Use Policy
4.1 Permitted Use
Emon is for:
- Personal or business CRM/contact management
- Organizing and tracking email communications in Notion
- Legitimate business or personal purposes in compliance with laws
4.2 Prohibited Activities
You agree not to:
- Violate laws/regulations or third-party rights
- Process emails you do not have permission to access
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or hack Emon
- Send spam, phishing, or malicious content
- Circumvent usage/rate limits
- Share credentials with unauthorized parties
- Use automated scripts abusively
- Interfere with others' access
5. Data Processing and Ownership
5.1 Your Data
You retain ownership of your email content and Notion data. By using Emon, you grant us a limited license to:
- Access Outlook emails for sync
- Create/modify pages in your selected Notion databases
- Process email metadata for contacts/organization
- Store temporary processing data (see Privacy Policy)
5.2 Multi-Tenant Data Isolation
Your data is isolated from other users by tenant identifiers and access controls. We access your data only to operate Emon or fulfill legal obligations.
6. Subscription Plans and Payments
6.1 Free Tier
New users can start with a free tier that includes limited features. No credit card is required.
6.2 Paid Subscriptions
- Fees billed monthly
- You authorize charges to your payment method
- Pricing changes with 30 days' notice
6.3 Usage Limits
Plans include limits for:
- Number of emails processed monthly
- Number of Notion workspaces
- Sync frequency and speed (subject to Notion's rate limit of 3 requests per second, which may result in slower processing during high-traffic periods.)
7. Service Availability and Support
7.1 Uptime and Performance
Emon targets 99.9% uptime but does not guarantee uninterrupted access. Downtime may result from scheduled maintenance, emergency/security issues, third-party outages, or events beyond our control.
7.2 Technical Support
Support is available via email, tiered by subscription. We respond to support requests within 24 business hours for paid plans.
8. Refund Policy
Refunds are available and are prorated for the current billing cycle. Reach out via email to request a refund. We grant prorated refunds for the current billing cycle.
9. Third-Party Dependencies
Emon relies on:
- Microsoft 365 (email access via Microsoft Graph API)
- Notion (database/page access)
- Railway (hosting)
Changes in API, terms, or pricing by these providers may affect Emon's functionality. We are not responsible for third-party interruptions or changes.
10. Intellectual Property
All Emon software, branding, and content are owned by us or licensors. You may not:
- Copy, modify, or distribute Emon
- Remove copyright or proprietary notices
- Use trademarks without written permission
11. Privacy and Data Protection
Our Privacy Policy governs data collection/use and is incorporated here by reference. By using Emon, you consent to its terms (see Privacy Policy for details). A Data Processing Agreement (DPA) is available upon request for business customers.
12. Termination
12.1 By You
You may terminate your account at any time via Emon. After termination:
- Email sync stops
- OAuth tokens are revoked/deleted
- All user data is purged from our servers immediately and automatically
- Refunds are available and are prorated for the current billing cycle
12.2 By Us
We may suspend/terminate accounts for:
- Violation of these Terms/use policy
- Nonpayment
- Fraud/illegal activity
- Security risks
Notice will be given when feasible, unless immediate action is required.
13. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability
13.1 Disclaimer of Warranties
Emon is provided "AS IS" without any express or implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
13.2 Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Emon is not responsible for:
- Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
- Lost profits, data, or interruptions
- Damages exceeding amounts paid in the previous 12 months
- Third-party service or API failures
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify Emon from claims, damages, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your Service use, Terms violation, or third-party rights infringement.
15. Changes to Terms
Terms may be updated at any time. Material changes are notified by email at least 30 days in advance. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
16. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by Delaware, USA law. Disputes are resolved by binding arbitration in Wilmington, Delaware (except for injunctive relief). Class actions are waived.
17. Miscellaneous
These Terms are the full agreement between you and Emon.
If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remain valid.
Failure to enforce rights does not waive future enforcement.
You may not assign these Terms; Emon may assign with notice.
